Demographics

Global Sampling
SizeGlobal utilizes an inclusive sampling approach that acknowledges the diverse ancestries shaping global populations. By including three of the most significant population groups, our datasets capture the nuanced variations in hand sizes and shapes essential for optimizing product fit. The proportions of ancestries are:
Chinese 200
White 200
Black 100
Importance for Fit
By capturing the varying hand sizes and shapes across different ancestries, we facilitate the development of products that fit a broader range of populations, enhancing inclusivity and customer satisfaction.
-
Gender Equality
Anthropometric surveys, particularly those conducted within military contexts, can exhibit a bias towards male subjects. Recognizing the importance of gender equality in sampling, SizeGlobal delivers an equal 50-50 ratio of male and female subjects.
Importance for Fit
The gender-balanced 50-50 sampling used by SizeGlobal has significant implications for product design and development. By considering the anthropometric variations between males and females, we facilitate the development of products that can offer optimal fit for all genders.
-
Age Diversity:
Unlike many conventional anthropometric surveys that exclude certain ages SizeGlobal's approach embraces diversity. SizeGlobal’s datasets include individuals of all ages, ensuring a more accurate reflection of the population.
SizeGlobal’s ages ranges
18-30
31-50
51-80+
Importance for Fit
The age sampling used by SizeGlobal has far-reaching implications. In fashion, healthcare, and product design understanding age diversity is essential for fitting a broad customer base effectively.

3D Scan File formats
3D Scan file sizes ranges from 60MB - 80Mb
All SizeGlobal 3D Scan files are delivered in two formats.
1.STL Format.
A Standard Tessellation Language (stl.) file is the industry standard for design and engineering purposes. The STL format allows for seamless integration into CAD softwares and is ideal for 3D printing applications.
2. OBJ Format.
An OBJ file contains three separate files: obj, mtl, and png.
OBJ: An OBJ file (.obj) is a surface file constructed of polygons that represent the 3D geometry of each subject's face. OBJ files are commonly used in CAD and 3D printing applications.
MTL: A Material Library File (.mtl) contains the color and texture information of each subject's face. The texture files include 37 anatomical landmarks for convenient usage.
PNG: A Portable Network Graphic (.png) is a 2D thumbnail graphic file representing the scan subject. It is typically utilized in PowerPoint presentations, websites, and printed materials.
Statistics File Formats
All SizeGlobal statistics tables are in xlxs file format.
